actor Daisuke Tsuji recreates Jin Sakai’s moves live

Ghost of Tsushima was warmly welcomed by gamers who have long been waiting for an open world action game set in feudal Japan. For his ambitious project, Sucker Punch worked hard on the combat animations, which should have meticulously reflected the movements of the skilled samurai.

Daisuke Tsuji, who lent the face for the protagonist Jin Sakai (without carrying out the motion capture sessions), collaborated on the new video published by the YouTube channel of Toru Uchikado, sword master who offered to teach the actor the more spectacular moves than his virtual alter ego. Although at first he was understandably awkward, Tsuji gradually fell more and more into the character of Lord Sakai, managing to replicate live the parry and the movements of the Shape of the Stone and the Shape of the Water. We know well how Sakai is characterized by a clear duality in his fighting style, but in this case the art of the true samurai is highlighted, and his ability to master the blade in face-to-face combat.

At the end of the video that you find at the top of the news, the two face off in a spectacular final battle, strongly inspired by one of the most spectacular sequences of Ghost of Tsushima (we invite you to interrupt the vision in time in case you want to avoid spoilers).

We take this opportunity to remind you that Sucker Punch has recently released a new patch for resolving the crashes of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PS5 and PS4. A few days ago, Ghost of Tsushima Legends, the multiplayer sector of the exclusive Sony, was also published in a standalone version.
