Released in 2020, Streets of Rage 4 brought back a famous SEGA brand after about 26 years of absence, obtaining a valuable feedback from critics and audiences who were pleasantly impressed by the return of a great past glory of the Sliding Beat ’em Up.
Streets of Rage 4 has exceeded one and a half million downloads and has also enjoyed physical distribution on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, proving the success of the production. Now, to celebrate the first year of the game (although the anniversary actually fell on April 30th), DotEmu and Lizardcube announce the arrival of Streets of Rage 4: Anniversary Edition, the complete edition of the game distributed by Merge Games which will arrive in physical format on PS4 and Switch on September 24, 2021.
In addition to all the content and updates released so far, the Anniversary Edition will also include the Mr. X Nightmare DLC, which is scheduled for digital release on July 15th. The downloadable content will have three new playable characters (Estel, Max Thunder and Shiva) and the brand new Survival mode that will offer players difficult challenges to face. If you have not yet had the opportunity to try your hand at the frantic fist fights of the game, you can read our review of Streets of Rage 4 and then throw yourself into the fray, perhaps waiting for the Anniversary Edition in September.
