better on Xbox Series X, PS5 or PC? Here is the first video comparison

On the day that marks the debut of Psychonauts 2, the first comparative video between the versions of the game intended for the various platforms could not be missing. Does Double Fine’s amazing platformer perform better on PC, Xbox or PlayStation?

As is known, the new production of Xbox Game Studios offers some exclusive features for Microsoft platforms: the native version for next-gen consoles is in fact reserved for Xbox Series X / S while PlayStation 5 must be satisfied with backwards compatibility. Similarly VRR is limited to the Redmond consoles and PC version, as is HDR. Nevertheless, according to the movie and net of these differences, the graphic quality seems to be comparable on all platforms, with the PC that, as often happens, enjoys a better anisotropic filter, a better depth of field and additional shadows.

Resolutions and framerates seem to coincide with the indications given by the developers of Double Fine with Xbox Series X offering 2160p at 60 fps or 1440p at 120 fps while PS5 stops, for the reasons mentioned above, at 1440p and 60 fps. The loading times also reward the version for the Xbox consoles for both generations, a sign of a probable ad hoc optimization. In any case, Psychonauts 2 offers an enjoyable experience on all platforms with some drops, especially for PS4 and Xbox One, during the cutscenes.
