crash on startup? It could be Discord’s fault

Are you unable to launch Forza Horizon 5 on PC or does the game crash on startup? The fault could be the antivirus, the firewall or Discord, the app seems to be incompatible with the Playground Games game, as pointed out on the support page of the Forza site.

If the game does not start, the developers recommend disabling the antivirus or firewall, among the products not perfectly compatible with Forza 5 we find Trend Micro Maximum Security, Comodo Antivirus, Sophos, Emisoft Anti-Malware, Avira, Avast, Bitdefender Firewall and AVG.

Then there are a number of programs that could cause crashes on startup or prevent the game from starting correctly, in this case it is recommended to uninstall the apps in question or disable them while playing. The list includes Logitech G Hub, MSI Afterburner / Riva Tuner Statistics Server, EVGA Precision, OBS, Xsplit, Discord, MacType, Warsaw Banking App, Wallpaper Engine, A-Volute Sound Studio, Nahimic Audio and Sonic Audio.

Discord is also on the list, as well as the OBS recording software, Playground is looking for a solution to the problem and will probably make a fix available soon, at the moment the advice as mentioned is to disable programs incompatible with Forza Horizon 5.

Forza Horizon 5 was released today on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, also available on Game Pass after winning over a million early access players last week.
