More than a year after the last gameplay of Metal Hellsinger with Troy Baker, the guys of the team The Outsider and the leaders of Funcom announce the postponement to 2022 of their shooter on tracks with a demonic setting and the definitive cancellation of the PS4 and Xbox versions One.
Originally scheduled for launch in 2021 as a crossgen title for the current and past family of Sony and Microsoft consoles, Metal Hellsinger thus becomes an exclusive nextgen project that can only be enjoyed on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S.
The abandonment of the lastgen consoles should facilitate the task that Funcom has entrusted to the guys of The Outsider, namely that of giving shape to a title that can immerse the fans of track shooter in a dimension steeped in musical elements that, needless to emphasize, will go to embrace Metal in all its forms.
At the helm of the project we find David Goldfarb, expert director of PayDay and lead developer of Battlefield 3 and Battlefield Bad Company 2, while the audio component will be entrusted to the likes of Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Tatiana Shmayluk (Jinjer) and Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquility).
On the gameplay front, Metal Hellsigner promises to make us destroy hordes of devils by beating the battles to the rhythm of metal and hard rock songs that will embellish the soundtrack: our task will be to wear the role of the Unknown, a creature in part human and partly demon obsessed with revenge and willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to annihilate the infernal being known as The Red Judge.
