Coming to PC and consoles in October, Fatal Frame / Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water will allow those who purchase it on old gen consoles to upgrade for free on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S.
The news was confirmed directly by the publisher Koei-Tecmo, who with a message published on his social channels specified that the next-gen upgrade will be free and available on both PS5 and Xbox Series X | S. This means that, even if you do not yet have the new Sony and Microsoft platforms, you can buy the horror game on the old gen console and start the upgrade later.
We know that on PlayStation the operation requires a few too many steps and is sometimes cumbersome, while on Series X | S we have the Smart Delivery technology that will make the transition simple and immediate. At the moment we do not know exactly what the features will be included in the next-gen version of the product, even if the 4K resolution and higher framerates are desirable. In any case, Koei-Tecmo has promised more details soon.
Recall that Fatal Frame / Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water will be released on October 28 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, no mention of a possible retail version of the horror title, always provided in digital format only. The producer said he hopes for a new chapter after this remastered.
