This service allows players to design, design and order one or more Xbox controllers fully customized in the colors and style of the different components, so that they can finally have the controller of their dreams designed directly by themselves, without being forced to have to choose from the classic colors of the controllers that are sold in stores. So let’s see how this popular service works in practice and how you too can make your own custom Xbox controller.
The first thing you will have to do is go to the homepage of the Xbox Design Lab site, where you will immediately find the first useful information on the service, including some examples of controllers created by other players, the specifications of the controllers created through this service ( which are compatible with Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, iOS, Android, Windows 10 and Windows 11, whose existence has recently been made official by Microsoft) and frequently asked questions about the service itself.
To start customizing your Xbox controller, go up to the top of the site’s homepage and select the Design your own option highlighted in green: in this way you will be transported to a new screen where you can choose your combination preferred colors and styles for all of the following different elements that make up the controller: Body, Back, Bumper, Triggers, Directional Cross, Sticks, A / B / X / Y Buttons and View / Menu / Share Buttons. For the last two elements it is possible to select one among, respectively, six and five different styles, while for each of the first six elements it is possible to choose one among 18 different colors:
