Just a few days ago, the videoudic universe saw some speculations about a new FromSoftware exclusive being developed for PlayStation 5.
With the team led by Hidetaka Miyazaki on the crest of the wave awaiting the release of Elden Ring, it’s no surprise that the rumor quickly made its way around the net, attracting the attention of millions of fans. Now, Shpeshal_Nick, co-host of the XboxEra podcast and extremely well-known insider in the videogame environment, thinks to throw further fuel on the fire, thanks to his large history of forecasts and advances later revealed to be correct.
From the microphones of the last appointment with XboxEra, the latter reported that he had had interesting details on the project. Specifically, FromSoftware would be working on a new IP exclusively for PlayStation 5. According to the sources of Shpeshal_Nick, the agreement reached between the Japanese software house and Sony would be extremely similar to what has already been achieved in the history of FromSoftware with Bloodborne and Demon’s Souls. The Japanese giant would therefore be the holder of all the rights on the IP, while FromSoftware would be responsible for the development. The latter, he continues, would see Miyazaki personally engaged, with the support of several Sony XDev Japan professionals, mainly former Japan Studio.
At the moment, there appears to be no connection between the mysterious new IP and the previous Bloodborne and Demon’s Souls. Finally, the source claims that this new production would have more affinity for the souls-like genre than what is seen in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and even what the team has in store with Elden Ring. Finally, concludes Shpeshal_Nick, to ensure the conclusion of the work on Elden Ring and the development of the exclusive PS5, FromSoftware would have temporarily paused a new Armored Core, whose realization would have already been affected by some difficulties.
As usual, we remind you that at this stage, what is reported represents a simple rumor, which could therefore prove to be wrong in whole or in part. To find out more, all that remains is to wait for any developments!
