problems with N64 games, emulation is not always perfect

Nintendo Switch Online + Add-on Pack is available from 25 October, this subscription also includes games for SEGA Mega Drive and Nintendo 64, as well as the Happy Home Paradise DLC for Animal Crossing New Horizons. However, it seems that the N64 games are not perfect and suffer from some problems, at least according to the first reports.

On ResetERA a topic has been opened dedicated to the emulation problems of N64 games on Nintendo Switch and in particular we talk about input lag (especially in Super Mario 64), framerate problems in games like Yoshi’s Story, Mario Kart 64 and Lylat Wars 64 (Star Fox 64), audio out of sync, disappearing textures, and problems with controllers and save slots.

At the moment Nintendo has not commented on this and it is likely that updates for individual games may soon be released. There are no problems with the SEGA Mega Drive titles, certainly easier to emulate than the more complex titles for the 64-bit console.

Nintendo Switch Online + Additional Package costs 39.99 euros for 12 months for single subscription and 69.99 euros (annual subscription) for Family subscription with multiple profiles. In addition to the N64 and Mega Drive games, members will also receive the Happy Home Paradise expansion for Animal Crossing New Horizons for free, available from November 5th.
