We have already talked to you about how the usual touts have stormed the Steam Deck pre-orders despite the systems designed by Valve to limit the problem. However, it was eBay to give a hard blow to this phenomenon.
The e-commerce giant has in fact exploited the regulation to its advantage, which provides that all products available for preorder must be shipped within 30 days from the time of purchase. Since the Valve handheld console will arrive on the market at the turn of the year and the beginning of 2022, it is not possible to publish advertisements regarding Steam Deck on the portal. In this way, many “offers” were cut out thanks to which it was possible to grab only the preorder (and therefore not the console, which requires payment near the launch) at crazy prices and often higher than $ 1,000.
It is not certain that this initiative will completely eradicate these crafty ones from the platform, but it is in any case a first move to counter an increasingly growing phenomenon that is hitting the electronics world hard.
Did you know that there is no game for Valve that Steam Deck can’t handle? It also appears that Ubisoft is ready to support Steam Deck should it succeed.
