Netflix has released the first teaser for the upcoming third season of their popular teen comedy-drama series Sex Education, featuring the main cast including Asa Butterfield’s Otis and Emma Mackey’s Maeve as they star in an advertisement video for the newly-reopened Moordale Secondary. The series is scheduled to make its return on Friday, September 17.
The Sex Education Season 3 teaser, which you can check out in the player below, provides us our first look at two of the series’ newest characters, Jemima Kirke’s Headmistress Hope and Dua Saleh’s Cal. It also teases the many changes that Moordale’s new Headmistress will be strictly implementing including standard uniforms for its students.

Sex Education stars Asa Butterfield as Otis, Gillian Anderson as Dr. Jean Milburn, Emma Mackey as Maeve, Ncuti Gatwa as Eric, Connor Swindells as Adam, Aimee-Lou Wood as Aimee, Kedar Williams-Stirling as Jackson, Patricia Allison as Ola, Mikael Persbrandt as Jakob, Tanya Reynolds as Lily, and Chinenye Ezeudu as Viv. It also features Mimi Keene, Simone Ashley, Chaneil Kular, Tanya Reynolds, Sami Outalball, Anne-Marie Duff, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Alistair Petrie, Samantha Spiro, Rakhee Thakrar, and Jim Howick.
In Season 3, it’s a new year, Otis is having casual sex, Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) and Adam are official, and Jean has a baby on the way. Meanwhile, new headteacher Hope tries to return Moordale to a pillar of excellence, Aimee discovers feminism, Jackson (Kedar Williams-Stirling) gets a crush and a lost voicemail still looms. Prepare for commitment animals, alien phenomena, vulva cupcakes, and much more of Madam Groff.
The new season will also see the addition of new cast members in the form of Jason Isaacs as Peter Groff, Jemima Kirke as Headmistress Hope, and Dua Saleh as Cal.

Sex Education is written and created by Laurie Nunn and produced by Eleven. Writers include Sophie Goodhart, Selina Lim, Mawaan Rizwan, Temi Wilkey, and Alice Seabright, with additional material from Jodie Mitchell.
Season 3 is directed by Ben Taylor and Runyararo Mapfumo. Laurie Nunn, Taylor, and Jamie Campbell all serve as executive producers. The first two seasons are available to stream now on Netflix.
