A few days after the announcement took place last Friday, Nintendo eSmartwatch dedicated to Super Mario and equipped with Wear OS, which will be sold in a limited edition. Let’s find out all the details together.
The new Super Mario Edition smartwatch from Tag Heuer’s Connected line will feature the face and animations of the intrepid mustachioed hero, and will be sold in only two thousand copies at a price of $ 2,150, in line with the other exponents of the same smartwatch family. Mario’s appearance and pose will change dynamically as the number of daily steps increases: at first he just says hello, at 25% he grows in size, at 50% he comes out of a duct, at 75% he becomes invincible and at 1000% he jumps on the flag, as if he had completed a level of one of his games. It will also be possible to choose between different interfaces: the Timekeeping version, for example, includes elements taken from the 1985 version of Super Mario Bros., with the plumber formed by pixels.
Even the watch itself has numerous references to its source of inspiration, such as the M embossed on the crown, the red details of the pushers and the writing “TAG Heuer x Super Mario Limited Edition” on the case back. Among the details of a technical nature, we point out a size of 45 mm for the dial, a weight of 86 grams, a battery of 430 mAh and a declared water resistance up to 5 ATM.
The TAG Heuer x Super Mario Limited Edition will be on sale from 15 July 2021 on the official Tag Heuer website and in boutiques. Only 2,000 copies will be available.
