The Abandoned app has been uploaded to the PlayStation Store servers but is not yet available for download, it is probably too early to download it considering that the reveal has been postponed to August but something is moving behind the scenes.
The prosperopatches.com site reports the existence of the “Abandoned Realtime Trailers” app apparently loaded in mid-June and updated on July 1, 2021. The file weighs 1.8 GB and the latest version of the app is 1.000.003, the app was loaded in Europe, North America and the United States but not in Japan, also note that the app icon simply carries the title without any artwork or logo.
After days of media chatter, last week Blue Box announced that the reveal gameplay of Abandoned has been postponed to August citing unspecified problems with the localization of the application and the desire not to disappoint the expectations of the public.
Despite the (alleged) clues and the numerous theories about it, many believe that Abandoned is not Hideo Kojima’s new game and the Blue Box studio has no connection with the author of Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding. We’ll know more in the coming weeks, waiting for the studio to show a trailer or gameplay of the mysterious Abandoned for PS5.
