Metal Slug Tactics will also arrive on Nintendo Switch. The strategic spin-off inspired by the famous SNK series and created jointly by DotEmu and Leikir Studio will make its debut on the Nintendo hybrid console in the course of 2022, as confirmed during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase on 11 August 2021.
For the occasion, a new, short trailer of the expected title was also shown, which showcases not only the gameplay in greater detail with a lot of colossal boss fight in the last seconds of the video, but also offers us a taste of the scenarios in which the adventure is set, inspired in particular by the beloved Metal Slug 2 and its X edition. In addition to confirming the presence of the iconic protagonists of the series Marco, Eri, Tarma and Fio, the game will also have roguelike elements with missions generated in a procedural, and the stages will expand with the game in progress, bringing new fearsome enemies to face. During the battles, players will be able to accumulate experience points which can be used to obtain better equipment and various upgrades.
Metal Slug Tactics was announced at the Summer Game Fest, with a confirmed release on PC via Steam in addition to the newly announced Switch version. For the moment, however, there are no more details on a more detailed release period, which remains set at 2022 for both versions.
