the new Italian map Malevento is now available in PTR

After apparently being postponed due to the controversy that Activision-Blizzard has faced in the past few weeks, the Malevento map has finally been launched in Overwatch’s Public Trial Region (PTR).

Malevento is the new (fictional) map set in Italy, and is described by the Blizzard developers as a mix of narrow corridors and wide open areas. Players will have great freedom of action, therefore, and will be able to focus both on short-range action, and on characters like Widowmaker more skilled from long distances. The clip that we have reported below allows you to take a first look at the windy cliffs, the narrow streets and also the interiors that we will be able to explore firsthand in the new map. This new location is planned for the free-for-all Deathmatch mode, and has not currently been included in other contexts. We will see if it will also arrive in the other modes once we have received feedback from users.

Following the legal issues that keep Activision-Blizzard busy for several days, Blizzard Entertainment has decided to postpone the arrival of the new chapter, having to first change the name of McCree’s character. The development company has also seen the departure of several key figures, including former president J. Allen Brack.
