Videogame dubbing has always been a world that particularly fascinates video game enthusiasts. Often a source of heated discussions, dubbing can make a huge difference for those who enjoy an interactive product and can significantly affect the purchase of the product in question.
On the occasion of the first edition of Everyeye Entertainment Expo, we met with the historic dubbing director Leonardo Gajo and with the well-known actor and voice actor Federico Viola. In their company, we had the opportunity to deepen all the secrets of videogame dubbing, learn what are the difficulties that can be encountered during the work and what are the technical objectives that the operators in the sector set themselves in the localization of a videogame product.
Leonardo Gajo has contributed to the creation of the dubbing of videludic franchises that have made the recent history of our medium, including Call of Duty, BioShock, Mafia, the Blizzard brands and not least Cyberpunk 2077.
Federico Viola is known to most for having lent his voice to Katsuki Bakugou from the My Hero Academia series, but the Milanese voice actor has been working for many years in the videogame industry, for example playing the role of Ajay Ghale in Far Cry 4, Eivor in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and V in Cyberpunk 2077. They both recognized the Sci-Fi title of CD Projekt RED as the most complex project they have ever worked on, and also the one they are most proud of.
