An action inspired by the genre cinema of the 50s and 60s: here is Trek To Yomi! We offer you our review of the new game from Fliying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital.
Already authors of the Shadow Warrior reboot series (with the third chapter released about two months ago), Flying Wild Hog offers us its new peculiar action game that follows the story of Hiroki, fearless and skilled samurai who we will take on during the course of the ‘adventure. The Polish developers have fully hit the mark with regard to the artistic side of the work, which perfectly succeeds in its intent to capture the essence of Japanese cinema of the 50s and 60s, and in particular of the films directed by the master Akira Kurosawa. In addition to the audio and visual sector, even the gameplay has been able to give us a lot of satisfaction, although the combat system cannot be said to be free from defects.
Instead, what convinced us slightly less is the narrative sector, which was not able to capture us in a particular way or involve us in a profound way in the role of Hiroki. The progress of the story, however, remains smooth, and the beauty of the settings that we will visit makes the experience constantly pleasant.
