Some European players eager to test Far Cry 6 in action on PS5 via the next gen upgrade linked to the purchase of the PlayStation 4 version of the game have stumbled upon an unpleasant discovery.
In fact, it seems that several adventurers ready to land on the shores of Yara have in fact been delivered by mistake the Russian edition of the Ubisoft title. The French software house, which had already made the same mistake with the marketing of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, would have in fact had some problems with the distribution of the game in the Old Continent.
In particular, the retail edition for PlayStation 4 of Far Cry 6 destined for Russia would have reached the shelves of several stores in Great Britain, Greece and Germany. Buyers would have noticed the error only at the time of the attempted free upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version of the open world. The procedure, in fact, is blocked in this case, with the only possible solution entrusted to the creation of a Russian PlayStation account. This trick, while allowing you to upgrade to the PS5 version, does not, however, allow you to redeem any bonuses associated with the purchase of special versions of Far Cry 6.
For the moment, Ubisoft has not received precise indications regarding the problem, with the aspiring revolutionaries waiting for a guide on how to conquer the island of Yara in Far Cry 6 also on PS5, despite the purchase of the wrong geographical version.
